Why Curubandé, Not Just the Coast
Guanacaste's beaches get all the attention, and they're worth it. But the coast is only half of what makes this province special. Twenty minutes inland from the beach towns, the land climbs toward Rincón de la Vieja, and the landscape changes completely: cooler air, dense forest, volcanic ridgelines, rivers running clear over rock. Curubandé sits right in that transition zone, close enough to Liberia and the coast for daily life, but immersed in the part of Costa Rica that made you want to move here in the first place.
Harmony Homes was designed around that setting rather than in spite of it. The community backs onto the Río Colorado, sits a few minutes from La Leona Waterfall, and looks straight at the volcano and national park. It's a genuinely different lifestyle from a beach-town condo: more land per lot, more quiet, and a slower pace, with the ocean still less than an hour away whenever you want it.

Harmony Homes is a 36-lot residential community built around conscious, low-density living: single-family lots starting around 240 m² (2,583 ft²), three home layouts, and shared green space rather than wall-to-wall construction. The idea, in the developer's own words, is a lifestyle "enriched by its natural surroundings," and having walked the site myself, that's not just marketing. It's a genuinely different feel from anything on the coast.
Choose Your Home
All three models are built on the same light steel-frame construction system and sit on similarly sized lots. I have full listings and photos for each:

Nahu (Fire)
Two independent 1-bedroom homes on one titled lot. Live in one, rent or host in the other.

Nanku (Home)
A 2-bedroom main house plus a separate studio unit. Space for family, guests, or income.

Narime (Root)
A single-roof 3-bedroom family home. The most straightforward of the three layouts.
Amenities & Site Plan
Phase 1 buyers get their own dedicated amenities along the river: a pool, a fire pit, a clubhouse, and a commercial building planned for a restaurant and coffee shop, effectively a private riverside club for the community. The wider master plan also includes walking and bike trails, yoga and pilates terraces, picnic areas, children's playgrounds, and a reforestation zone along the water. I have the full site plan and can walk you through exactly which lots are still available.
How Building Here Works
Construction uses a light system (concrete pillars, steel framing) rather than traditional cinder block, which keeps the build faster and cleaner: roughly four months of construction plus about two months for permitting once a lot is selected. Buyers can customize interior finishes, colors, and minor layout changes within the standard budget at no extra cost; upgrades like a pool, furniture, or solar are available as add-ons. Payments are tied to construction milestones rather than a fixed calendar and run through a regulated escrow account for security, and buyers who can't be on-site get weekly photo or video progress updates. There's also a local Airbnb for buyers who want to visit before or during construction.
Location
- 15 minutes to downtown Liberia for shopping, dining, schools, and healthcare
- 30 minutes to Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR)
- 5 minutes to La Leona Waterfall
- 20 minutes to Rincón de la Vieja National Park
- 45–60 minutes to Guanacaste's beaches, including Playa Hermosa, Playas del Coco, and Playa Panamá
I'm working directly with the Harmony Homes team on this project, so if you're weighing a beach-town condo against something with more land, more quiet, and a view of an actual volcano, I can walk you through the lots, the numbers, and what it's really like to live there.
